New Zealand production wins International Digital Emmy Award
14th April 2010
Film New Zealand congratulates KHF Media's David Stubbs and Thomas Robins on winning an International Digital Emmy Award (IDEA) on Tuesday 13 April 2010 for their online interactive show for TVNZ, Reservoir Hill.
The show was chosen over competition from Canada (Inside Hana's Suitcase), Finland (The Space Trainees), Hong Kong (HK File.X) and the UK (The Well) to take out the award in the Children and Young People category.
The interactive web series follows the story of 16-year-old Beth Connolly (played by Wellington actress Beth Chote) after she moves from a small New Zealand town to a subdivision in a larger city.
Viewers were encouraged to send Beth advice as they watched, either by text or via the social messaging site Bebo. Some of that advice was then incorporated into the following episode's plot, leaving just two days to film each episode before screening.
The show can be viewed at TVNZ Ondemand.
